Long Time No Posty

Sorry for those of you that do follow the blog, just changed computer and haven't really had time to do the blog for some time now.
I'll try and make more of an effort this year to put at least a fortnightly post up.

I might however change the whole thing and start again. We'll have to see.

Until then

Ian.

Just a few pictures

Just a few pictures from this morning. At least you get some idea now how small Daisy is compared to Lily. That's all for the day.

Sorry for the lack of updates

but we've been busy here, Daisy is home !!!!

She was discharged on Monday. She is still on some medication for a condition called "reflux" http://www.reflux.org/ (check out the link on the left hand side for "basic info")

So sleepless nights and a very very jealous sister!!!!

Then downhill again when yesterday I had to take Daisy back to A&E as she has an infection in her wound from the operation. If it's not one thing it's another. Yet more antibiotics (10 day course) but at least she's still home.

Lily is getting better (it must be a huge shock for her not getting all the attention) but I still don't think she realises that Daisy is here to stay!!!

After a couple of weeks with Bailey (Heather and Tony's dog) Lily picked up with the phases "good dog/good girl" so now she pats Daisy's head and says good girl. I'm not sure if she's referring to herself or Daisy!!

All in all everything is going well as can be expected.

After two requests I've added some pictures of Lily. I haven't managed to get one of both the girls together yet, but hopefully will soon.

More to follow when there's any developments.

Frimley Park Hospital

Just a few pictures as daisy has had her TAT tube taken out.

Yet more progress. Hopefully this really is the road to home.
What a day though, my job went pear shaped as soon as I arrived, and was delayed by six hours. I should have been home by lunch, but didn't get back until 7.45pm. Straight to the hospital, just in time for feeding time. Daisy is now doing very well just feeding from the bottle, taking about 70 ml every four hours, all of which is on demand, meaning she wakes up herself for food.
The nurses seem pleased with her progress, but we won't tempt fate and start talking about when she can be discharged yet. But hopefully it won't be very long before we are a complete family at home.
More when there is more.
